Our story

Citizens Financial Services started in 1993 with a “dream and a smile”. Citizens’ goal was to make the loan process simple and fast by removing the red tape that bogs down larger banks. Citizens also knew that there were plenty of good folks in the area that were credit-worthy, even if the bank’s computer scores said otherwise.

By talking with people and getting to know them and their stories, Citizens has been able to carve out a successful niche serving folks who were turned away by traditional banks or simply did not want to deal with the hassle of big banks.

It really is all about the people. We are genuinely curious and love getting to know people. It continues to be rewarding to share in the lives and stories of members of the community. We see ups and downs, we are there to give a high-five or a hug – whatever it takes. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name.

Life keeps happening every day for everyone – new tires, dental work, a new hot water heater, vacations…you name it and we have loaned money for it! We aim to create win-win situations so that our loans are sustainable and affordable for our customers.
